Day 4: The Golden Circle

An excursion to many of nature‘s wonders well-known in Iceland. We visit the National Park Thingvellir where the Icelandic Saga Parliament was founded in 930 AD and so belongs to the oldest parliaments in the world. This is the place where the American and the Eurasian continents meet – or rather drift apart. From there we drive on to the picturesque waterfall Gullfoss and the erupting hot springs at the Geysir area. At Gullfoss Café and Geysir you can purchase lunch and other refreshments.
Duration around 8 hours. Pickup 08.00-08.30

Day 5: This day is at your own disposal

We recommend you to rent a car and drive out of town – e.g. along the south coast. Here you pass several, spectacular waterfalls, among them is Seljalandsfoss which you can pass behind by foot. Standing there between the cliff wall and the thundering water masses is an extraordinary experience. Pay a visit to the excellent folk museum at Skogar and enjoy the beautiful waterfall. Other experiences today are Iceland‘s southernmost village Vik and a visit to the long, black lava sand beach in Reynishverfi. Here you can enjoy a good lunch or a cup of coffee combined with a fantastic view, at the Black Beach Café. On your way back you can choose another route through the charming villages Stokkseyri and Eyrarbakki. If you wish you can try the delicious lobster dinner at the Fjöruborðið restaurant in Stokkseyri.

We can also arrange one night‘s accommodation in the country side if you wish.
