During the 15 day All around Iceland Tour you will experience all of Iceland´s main attractions. You will drive along the magnificent West fjords with its stunning fjords and majestic mountains. You will have enough time to go on tours in order to explore Iceland more closely.

This is the ultimate tour with suitable time spent at Iceland´s major nature spots. Explore dramatic landscapes and some of the world’s finest waterfalls, visit erupting geysers in the great Geysir hot spring area and Thingvellir, a UNESCO world heritage site. Enjoy Vatnajökull glacier, the glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón and many other unique places.

Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN ICELAND

Arrival in Iceland. If time allows, go for a exploration walk around Reykjavík.
Overnight in Reykjavík in either Fosshótel Baron or Fosshótel Lind.

Day 2: WHALE FJORD AND SAGA VALLEY

Explore the scenic Whale fjord and the valley of Borgarfjörður.
Spent the night in the Borgarfjörður area at Fosshótel Reykholt.

Day 3: SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA

Explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula with its snow capped volcano, stunning coastline, lava fields and bird colonies.
Overnight in a same category hotel as Fosshótel on Snæfellsnes peninsula.

Day 4: BREIÐARFJÖRÐUR AND THE WEST FJORDS

Take the morning ride on the ferry Baldur and travel to the west fjords. Stop at the small but beautiful island of Flatey. Head to Patreksfjörður when you´re back on dry land.
Spent two nights at Fosshótel Westfjords.

Day 5: PUFFIN WATCHING

Drive to Europe’s largest bird cliff Látrabjarg. Enjoy the magnificend view from the high cliff on Europe´s westernmost point. Afterwards, drive to the Red Sand Beach(Rauðisandur) and enjoy a walk in the picturesque landscape.

Day 6: MAGNIFICENT WEST FJORDS

Be prepared to get impressed by the stunning fjords while travelling north in this beautiful peninsula. Stop at Iceland´s most beautiful waterfall, Dynjandifoss. You will pass a lot of small villages until you reach the capital of the west fjords, Ísafjörður.
Stay for one night in a same category hotel as Fosshótel.

Day 7: SEALS IN NORTHERN ICELAND

Today you will leave the west fjords and drive along the picturesque fjords in the north back to the mainland. Stop in Hvammstangi to visit the Seal exhibition. In the area of Blönduós / Varmahlíð, spend the night in a same category hotel as Fosshótel.

Day 8: HISTORIC SITES OF TRÖLLASKAGI PENINUSLA

Drive via Sauðárkrókur to Siglufjörður, the former herring-fishing capital of Iceland, and visit the historic sites of Hólar as well as the stunning sites of Tröllaskagi peninsula.
Overnight at Fosshótel Dalvík.

Day 9: AKUREYRI AND WHALE WATCHING

Visit Akureyri, the capital of the north, and the waterfall of the gods, Goðafoss. Afterwards, proceed further on to Húsavík and go for an evening whale watching tour from Húsavík (June – August).
Overnight 2 nights at the newly renovated Fosshótel Húsavík or Fosshótel Laugar.

Day 10: MÝVATN AREA

The unique landscape surrounding the Mývatn area makes it a perfect spot for hiking. What better way to relax after the hike than to enjoy the Mývatn natural baths.

Day 11: DETTIFOSS WATERFALL

Drive around Tjörnes peninsula and visit Europe’s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss (mid June to August). Afterwards, proceed further eastwards.
Stay in Fosshotel Eastfjords.

Day 12: EAST FJORDS

Begin the morning by travelling along the coastline of the Lagarfljót river. Stop in Hallormsstaður, where Iceland’s largest forest is located. Afterwards, proceed further south whilst enjoying your ride along the scenic east fjords. Stop in Höfn for the glacier exhibition before proceeding further along the the glacier. The Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon is there to impress you.

Day 13: WONDERS OF SOUTH ICELAND

Drive along the south coast and witness many natural wonders such a black lava beaches, waterfalls and glaciers.
Stay in Fosshótel Hekla.

Day 14: GEYSIR HOT SPRING AREA

Visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area in Haukadalur and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Overnight in Reykjavík in either Fosshótel Baron or Fosshótel Lind.

Day 15: DEPART FOR HOME

If time allows: Enjoy Reykjavík, or explore the Reykjanes Peninsula with a stop at the famous Blue Lagoon for relaxation.
