Day 1 Arrival in Iceland – Reykjavík
Take the flybus from the airport in Keflavik to Reykjavik, the northernmost capital in the world.
Overnight: Reykjavík
Day 2 Flight to Egilsstaðir
Flight with Air Iceland from Reykjavik domestic airport to Egilsstaðir in East Iceland (1 hour). Pick up you rental car at Egilsstaðir Airport and drive to your hotel.
Overnight: Egilsstadir
Day 3 Egilsstaðir
Take a drive to the beautiful vicinity of Egilsstaðir. Drive along the river-lake Lögurinn and visit Iceland´s largest forest at Hallormsstaður. You could also drive to Seyðisfjörður, the landing place for the Smyril Line ferry from Europe, and home to a vibrant art scene emerging to the backdrop of a 19th century village. You will also want to spend some time in your nice little town of Egilsstaðir.

Day 4 East Fjords
Drive through Fagridalur valley route 92 on your way to the famous East Fjords, each of them offering attractions of various kind, small villages and surprises. You can stop in Fáskrúðsfjörður and experience the famous French fisherman museum that opened in 2014. Drive to Höfn, a nice fishing village of Höfn at the south-east coast.
Overnight: The Vatnajökull – Höfn area.
Day 5 South-East – Vatnajökull Glacier
Today the landscape is dominated by Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. Don’t miss a boat trip among the icebergs on the amazing glacier lagoon, Jökulsárlón. Visit the National Park of Skaftafell with its unique location set between mountains, sands, rivers and glaciers. Continue to your hotel.
Overnight: The Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.
Day 6 South Coast
Enjoy the south coast with waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the interesting Museum of Skógar, the glaciers Eyjafjalla- and Mýrdalsjökull. See the rugged and magnificent beaches of the Atlantic Ocean with bird cliffs and much more.
Overnight: The Selfoss – Hvolsvöllur area.
Day 7 Golden Circle
Visit 3 of the most famous spots in Iceland, the National Park Thingvellir, Iceland’s greatest historical site and jewel of nature, where the first parliament in the world was founded in 930. The famous Geysir, geothermal area and Gullfoss, the queen of Icelandic waterfalls.
Overnight: The Selfoss – Reykjanes area.
Day 8 Reykjanes Peninsula – Departure
Depending on departure time of your flight, we recommend that you explore some of the wonders of Reykjanes peninsula, f.e. the Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa where guests can relax in warm geothermal seawater. Drop off your rental car at Keflavik airport before departure.
